Center Projects

The Policy Research Center for Tobacco and the Environment is conducting short-term research projects focused on gathering data to inform tobacco-related policies in California.

Indoor

These projects emphasize protecting human health from second- and thirdhand smoke by improving disclosure of thirdhand smoke in leases and real estate contracts.

Outdoor

These projects emphasize protecting outdoor environments from degradation by tobacco product waste, including smoking in outdoor restaurants and pollution in campgrounds and marine ecosystems.

Youth

This project emphasizes preventing youth tobacco use and vaping by creating a restorative alternative to suspension for students caught using commercial tobacco products at school.
