Sarah earned her PhD in the School of Environmental Studies at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. She conducted her doctoral research at the Ontario Agency for Health Protection and Promotion, concentrating on groundwater quality, health behaviors, and its impact on human health. Sarah recently began a position as the Center Coordinator at the Center for Tobacco and the Environment, overseeing two Centers: the Policy Research Center for Tobacco and the Environment, and the Thirdhand Smoke Resource Center. In her role at the Policy Research Center for Tobacco and the Environment, Sarah is excited about incorporating community-based participatory research principles into their projects. She believes that listening to the voices of those directly impacted by the toxic legacy of tobacco is crucial for developing effective interventions and policies. Additionally, she looks forward to contributing to evidence-based solutions that address health risks associated with tobacco use while promoting environmental sustainability. In her free time, you can find her hiking with her dog or exploring the many amazing restaurants around San Diego County.
