Savannah Yurcek

Prevention Specialist, SAY San Diego

She/her

Savannah is currently the Project Manager for the Policy Research Center for Tobacco and the Environment. Her focus is on assisting with the planning and implementation of 2025-2027 research projects and creating content for the dissemination of completed projects. She joined the Center in 2024 in her previous role as a Research Specialist, and is is excited to continue working with community partners on important issues related to tobacco and the environment. In her free time, you can find her in the garden or reading a good book.

Before her time at the Center, Savannah earned a bachelor’s of science in public health from UC San Diego and completed a medical assisting program at San Francisco State. Her academic interests included global health, disability justice, and mental health with her capstone research project investigating the effects of different social media platforms on mood in young adults. Post-graduation, her professional experience at SAY San Diego as a Prevention Specialist on the Alcohol Tobacco and Other Drug Prevention Team fostered her passion for tobacco prevention, community engagement, and policy change.
